The safety helmet selected should satisfy certain performance requirements including shock absorption, resistance to penetration; and be adjustable to fit and make comfortable to the user. Certainly, the safety helmet can never be effective unless it is properly worn for the purpose.

Noise-induced hearing loss rarely happens overnight. Rather, it accumulates over time with every unprotected exposure to hazardous noise. We are born with around 20,000 hair cells in each ear. Above 80 decibels (for 8 hours), noise can destroy these hair cells and gradually lead to deafness. This deafness is sadly irreversible, but it is entirely preventable.
Let’s put an end to hearing loss! Choose the hearing protection that suits you best and that you can wear comfortably 100% of the time when you are exposed to noise.
Air polluted by gases, vapours, dusts, chemical or biological aerosols, or even oxygen depleted air. These are just a few examples where the use of respiratory protection is required. The wide range of respiratory products offered gives you many options to protect yourself in a variety of environments and varied work. We offer the most extensive range of single-use masks, reusable face pieces elements, powered air purifying respirators and air supply equipment as well as self-contained breathing apparatus for a wide range of applications. The choice of using a filter must be taken to provide the optimal conditions of safety for the user. The protection factor is dependent on the air tightness of the face piece (masks for use with filters), or complete equipment such as powered air purifying devices.
Salisbury is the world leader in Electrical Safety PPE and live line tools. For over 150 years, our products have helped protect electrical workers from the hazards of their job.
Salisbury By Honeywell is a complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provider for all electrical workers against electrical hazards as defined by OSHA Regulations and the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
On April 1, 2014, OSHA announced a final rule revising the standards for electric power generation, transmission, and distribution. Prior to this revised rule, arc flash protective clothing was subject to limited regulation and was primarily driven by standards such as NFPA70E and NESC. Look to Salisbury to provide your arc flash protective clothing required by the OSHA Ruling.
FR and Arc Rate d Clothing:
• FR clothing is defined as clothing that does not melt, ignite, or contribute to the injury of the wearer. • Arc rated clothing is required whenever the calculated energy is greater than 2.0 cal/cm2. • Arc rated clothing must cover the entire body with an exception for hands, feet, and head protection. • If employees face a single phase, open air exposure 9-12 cal/cm2, a face shield is required; exposures greater than 13 cal/cm2 require a face shield + balaclava or arc rated hood. • If employees face a three phase exposure 5-8 cal/cm2, a face shield is required; exposures greater than 9 cal/cm2 require a face shield + balaclava or arc rated hood.
The NFPA 70E Standard and OSHA Regulations have been established to protect workers from electrical shock and arc flash hazards and to educate workers about the protection needed from these dangers. For example, the NFPA 70E Standard specifies areas where arc flash protection is required for workers involved in the maintenance of energized or potentially energized electrical equipment. All personnel within the defined boundaries must wear specified protective equipment, even on circuits as low as 50 volts.
The NFPA 70E Standard and OSHA Regulations MUST be met, and Salisbury has made it easy to meet them. To ease the burden of meeting all the necessary safety standards and requirements, we’ve developed convenient Personal Protective Equipment Kits.
It is common knowledge that there are many activities that can present danger in the industrial workplace. One such danger is the high occurrence of eye injuries which can be caused by a range of practices including welding and grinding.
Due to the high temperatures, speed and materials involved in the welding process, there are many dangers that workers need to be aware of. Welding spatter can cause nasty injuries and without sufficient protection, the spatter could easily enter the eye of both the welder and also other workers in the near vicinity.
In order to avoid potential injury, welders are strongly advised to wear suitable eye protection when engaged in any of these, or other hazardous activities. Other workers in the vicinity of these activities should also be wearing eye protection. The eye protection used should be of the relevant safety standards and impact resistance.
It is also recommended that when workers are wearing a welding helmet that they either have both a welding lens that can flip up to reveal a clear lens or else wear a pair of safety glasses under the helmet.
